HRM Shaker is a great blog that aims to deliver you with the best random material this thing called the interwebs has to offer. Come and check up often as we are always updating the blog with great stuff!
Karmin is by far, in my opinion, the best cover band on youtube. You may have come across their version of 'Look at me Now' by Chris brown, which has shot them to stardom and led them to sign a record deal with LA Reid's label. However, my favorite Karmin cover is of Nicki Minaj's "SuperBass', first due to Amy's amazing vocals, and second, for the surprise guests that show up halfway into the video clip.
It's been almost 7 months since my last post, but it's just because I've been busy with a few things in my life.
I want to take this opportunity to tell you that I would like to thank you all for following, visiting, and supporting my blog.
I expect 2012 to be a year filled with many welcoming opportunities and many posts.
So I welcome you back to HRM Shaker and I just wanted to say I love you!
Enjoy my love tribute to you!
This Acapella group decided to dedicate an entire medley to the music they listened to during their youth/university years. They put together a collection of songs that most of us remember and love. For added fun, wach the bearded guy in the middle at the bottom. Specifically, watch how he cant snap his fingers.
A friend of mine has been involved in a few bands making their original tracks and I have to admit their coming up with great acoustic tunes! This is the first track of a new band called Free Electron and it's quite a catchy song! Visit their Facebook page if you like it.. (here)
This is just insane! I'm working on finding out who this person is and why the hell I've never heard of him before. For now check him out mashing up 39 songs live!
The track list is after the break if you are interested
Ever wondered what people on the street are listening to? Well this man did, and so he asked! This video is the result of that. It's amazing to see the variety of music being listened to at the same time in the same area. Great idea, maybe I'll do it in Montreal!
A couple of days ago I got you the heartwarming story of Sung-Bong Choi and his plight to becoming a singer. Now I bring another talented person trying to break free from the shackles set upon her. Her name is Dani Shay and her curse is that Justing Bieber looks just like her.
Check out what she has to say in response to this unfortunate coincidence through her hilarious audition on America's Got Talent.
You never know how easy you've got it until you've listened to someone else's hardships. Sung-Bong Choi, a hopeful contestant competing on Korea's Got Talent, is a person that has gone through hell and back and he's only 22. I hope he makes it through this comp and that no one ever experiences what he has gone through. Hope this video makes you want to make this world a better place.
I would like to present to you Alaa Wardi, he is a Jordanian musician that lives in Riyadh.
He has been uploading videos of his music to his Youtube channel and is gaining some traction, as he is quickly becoming one of the top followed artists on Youtube in the Middle-East.
His style will strike you as foreign at first, but you'll soon feel a sense of familiarity once you soak in his wonderful Arabic lyrics. Moreover, the harmonies he pulls off in his all vocal songs (i.e. all instruments are replicated by him) will leave you feeling all warm and cozy on the inside.
So check him out and support him in every way you can, since such a talent needs to be fostered rather allowed to fade into the blackholes of our minds.
Enjoy his wonderful song and check out his youtube channel ==> Here
He single handedly toppled the dance world with his peculiar style that was based on africanism, dancehall, and just good ol' love. Now he takes it one step further with his new single "Far L'amore" which literally means making love and is a remix of an old classic by Italian sex symbol Rafaella Carra. So just sit back, enjoy, and tap your feet to this celebration of sex.
Jorge Navarez and his adorable daughter are back with a great cover of What's up (what's going on) by the 4 non blondes.
They already stole my heart in there last duet (found here) and now i just wanna go a hug the cuteness out of that little girl cause I can't take it anymore. She reminds of that little adorable child in Despicable Me. You know the one that goes "it's so fluffy I'm gonna dieeeee!". Anyways, a very nice and a very uplifting video. So great to see such a connection between a father and his daughter.
I just showed you the best wedding invite (Click here). And now I wanna show you the best way to propose.
If your unfamiliar with chat roulette it is sped chat service that connects random people together. However, looks like he could see into the future...
At first glance, you'd think from the title that this would be some sort sappy love song. But twenty seconds into the song and you begin to notice that you're not in Kansas anymore. Her lyrics contrast with her title and throw you, for a second, in a sense of confusion as you are trying to understand what is going on. She's broken, she's hurt, yet still wants to stick around.
It is impressive what young and driven talent can bring to the old and worn. Even more outstanding is their ability to maintain hope through the most dire of situations showering in optimism and love on those within their midst. They give us untainted eyes and passionately eloquent voices with which new dialog is invoked. Tomorrow's promise is their sword and hope is their beacon. Listen to their call. Witness their strife. It is not through violence that they try to achieve alternate futures, but through their creative instincts and love for peace.
The Palestinian Theater Group from Montreal offers you a chance to experience this wave of promise.
Don't miss out on it.
Visit their facebook event page for more info and watch out for the trailer after the break.
Update: Added some pics and videos from the show. Also, there has been talk that the play will be performed in Ottawa, so if you missed your chance to watch the show, get your tickets to watch it in Ottawa soon!
Awesome Track by The Black Keys, and an even better clip. Guys will always learn from their fathers, parents benefit from their kids day by day and girls, well, they just wanna play.
It's a sick track so what are you waiting for to check it out!
What started off as a little experiment in someone's garage is now a ravaging phenomenon taking the music world by storm. Dubstep (Db) is a form of electronic music that incorporates various aspects from drum and bass to breakbeats all the while keeping them in a 2 step beat. The result is Dance Music's (DM) older, darker, and much more mature brother. And given that DM has been whoring itself out to every passerby, it's time that Db comes and whips everything back into place. Also, it has led to the development of a quite breathtaking dance style that just amazes you as you watch how several individuals are inspired to move by Db.
Wait, what's that? DM didn't whore itself out. It and Ke$ha are just friends. Yeah and I'm the Queen of England.
Moving on...
Here's a few clips of some Db classics and the newly emerging and truly amazing Db dance style, all found after the break.
A friend of a friend told me about her friend who's in a band. The rest as we say is history.
Mr. Fari is half latino half arab but with an all reggae sound. His style somewhat reminds me of Jack Johnson mixed in with a little bit of Jason Mraz superimposed to sun loving beats.
You sometimes come across this raw awe inspiring talent that leaves you lost for words unable to describe what you had witnessed, an experience that occurred to me at a benefit I attended last week.
Two great souls collide in an unorthodox collaboration between music and words. On the one hand, you've got Ian who molds the English language as if it were his David , delivering words with the potency of atomic bombs, while on the other, you've got Balam breathing life into Ian's creations with heavenly melodies that would bring tears to an angel's eyes.
