    Buton

  • You know, when you've lived in a place for so long, you often begin to take it for granted. You start to forget why you've fallen in love with it in the first place. Yet, all it takes is just a simple breather, a step back, and a careful eye and you'll see again what you thought lost.

God keep our land safe and free!

Standing there. On the edge. Ready to jump. Ready to fall down. Ready to fall deep. Ready to fall under.
My heart beats like a bass drum. Thumping. My adrenaline rising. My eyes dilating.
    This is it.
    This is the moment.
    ....
Everything goes quiet. Yet I can still hear my heart. Pounding. Faster. Faster. Faster.
    It all goes white.
As I come too, I find myself surfing in a sea of oscillating arms. Wipe out.
    It all goes white again.
    The throbbing gets louder.
I open my eyes. I can see... me.
She approaches me. She talks to me. She touches me. She wants me.
We collide.  Enveloped in a vortex of feeling.
    I can see... me.
    Dividing.
    Multiplying.
    Aggregating.
    Running.
    Running towards the light.
    It all goes white.
Yet I can still hear it. My heart. It won't stop thumping. It won't stop pounding. It won't stop throbbing.
    I am alive. But dark.
I see her. She smiles. She's light.
Two sides of the same coin. We flip. Probability.
It's all just a game. Chance.
    We flip.
I feel feeling. I feel it building. Supernova.
    It all goes white.
    My heart cracking like thunder.
Black rain drops on my eyes. It's coming.
I feel feeling. I feel it building. Hiroshima.
It's all just a game. Chance.
    We flip.
    It's tails. You win.

    HRM

I am not the biggest NFL fan out there, but for some reason I really enjoy watching the Super Bowl. Maybe it's the get together with friends, the adrenaline rush experienced watching that game winning/changing pass, or just the great ads. But now that I've given the thought more of a second, I think it's mainly just for the ads!

What I really like about them is the fact that they keep getting more outrageous every year in  an attempt to outdo the last guy's outrageous commercial. This may lead, more than often, to some utterly stupid and non watchable ads, but sometimes the  mix of outrageous turns out to be just right and you end up with one hilarious commercial that sets itself as memorable and leaves you with a satisfying WTF moment.

Such is the case with KIA's new Super Bowl ad! It's premise is simple: sandman + golden magic dust = wonderful dreams. Nothing new there until the sandman accidentally drops his bag of magic dust on an a man subdued in peaceful slumber. Oh what will this overdose do to that man's poor dreams? Watch the commercial and find out (Hint: Adriana Lima, the lady of many a man's dreams, makes an appearance)...

Also, KIA has also provided a five hour slow-mo video of Adriana Lima waving a checkered flag. Why you ask? Just cause they can!

    Enjoy!

Remember last year's VW super bowl spot? The one with the little kid dressed up as Darth Vader. Wasn't that the cutest and most creative ad you've seen?

Well VW has taken it up a notch by carrying the theme forward to this year, and teasing us with a trailer of their upcoming superbowl ad. I'm getting a huge smile on my face just thinking about it. Check out the video and let me know if you are too.

Also, click here if you'd like to check out last year's ad.
For aspiring Tennis fans and professionals, being a ballgirl/boy at an international open is something to be exited about. You get to step out on the courts that many of Tennis' greats have stepped on and you also get to meet some of those greats! However, being a ballgirl/boy in this year's Australian open had an extra perk: you got to pick up the night bugs that were dropping in on the game.

That wasn't good news for a poor ball girl that had to face up to her clear phobia of bugs and remove one so that play could continue during the Lleyton Hewitt and Cedrik-Marcel Stebe matchup.

The sliver lining to this predicament was the warm support of the crowd and the cheers they gave the girl once the bug was removed.

Good Job brave ballgirl, good job!

Check out the vid of her brave effort.. and enojy her freaked out face!

Karmin is by far, in my opinion, the best cover band on youtube. You may have come across their version of 'Look at me Now' by Chris brown, which has shot them to stardom and led them to sign a record deal with LA Reid's label. However, my favorite Karmin cover is of Nicki Minaj's "SuperBass', first due to Amy's amazing vocals, and second, for the surprise guests that show up halfway into the video clip.

    Enjoy!

Bobo the Monkey ;) Day 44 I would like to introduce you to a special friend of mine. Her name is Fatima Al Sabah, but we all call her 2T (pronounced tootie).

One thing that you may notice immediately after meeting her for the first time is her warm and bubbly personality. She is, literally, a fantastic person to hang out with.

Positively oriented and constantly entranced by her surroundings, 2T began to capture her environment in stunning photos. What started out as a humble project has now matured into an amazing feat. Posting daily for the past 200 days, 2T has invited us to sneak a peak into the keyhole through which she sees our world; and may I say, it is quite a refreshing point of view. She plans to keep this up for another 165 days to effectively complete a year's worth of photos. I for one am looking forward to the rest of these pictures.

Here are some select pictures that she has taken during the project: Roasting Chestnuts, iPhoning and Pink Toenails Day 171 Tangerines Day 194 Flowers for the Enemy Day 77 Oh the Mangoes! Day 108
(2T uses an iPhone4/4s and the hipstamatic app for all of her photos).

Make sure to follow her on flickr and twitter as a nod of encouragement and support.

    KEEP IT UP 2T!
