  • I wonder if the new BB goes well with my bra?
We all knew that this was going to happen soon.

With its market share waining and constantly threatened by the other fruity named phone (Apple) and the friendly green robot (Android), Blackberry needs to up its game as to not loose more ground to these heavyweight and still growing contenders.

Its last attempt at saving grace was, how should I put this, a mild flop, with the Torch (9800) barely lighting the way to success and Cristal popping in the champagne room. While the use of Blackberry's OS6 on the Torch was a good move forward for the company, its lack of coherent user friendliness and potent apps gave the phone a hard time when competing against Apple's iPhone 4 and Android phones. Couple the latter with an under-performing processor that was struggling to run all the bells and whistles of the system and you were in for a lackluster experience characterized by frequent freezes and slow execution.

Nevertheless, it looks like blackberry learnt its lesson and is now coming in swinging ... hard!

Four new phones have been leaked over the past couple of weeks with the news saying that Rim will be launching the Bold Touch (9900), the Torch 2 (9810), the Storm 3 (9860), and the Curve Touch (no model number yet) soon. And boy do they all look promising.

As you can tell by their names, all these phones will be touch enabled and will look to utilize OS6's full tactile potential. Moreover, they also come with the upgraded Blackberry OS (OS6.1) which offers better features and performance and is claimed by the company as a giant leap forward when compared to its predecessor; with the experience said to be amplified through the use of more powerful processors (i.e. most of the above mentioned phones will have 1.2Ghz Qualcomm chips).

Moreover, they all look fascinating with clean cut lines, mouth watering screen resolutions, and the steel/leather combo that Blackberry has come to be known for. However, as promising and pretty as they may be, only time will tell if these new phones and their new configurations and features will catapult Blackberry back to being the drug of choice when looking for a connection high.

Following the break are some specs, pictures, and videos of the newly leaked phones.
